Learn how to fix a flat tire on your ATV.
All Terrain Vehicles, or ATV's can get you into the backwoods, through the mud, and on trails or roads inaccessible by larger vehicles. Every ATV driver knows that the tires need to be kept in top condition for the ATV to perform well. Due to the rugged nature of the terrain most ATV's are ridden through, flats are common. It's a good idea to learn how to fix an ATV tire while out on the trail, and to keep a tire repair kit or sealant with you at all times.

Things You'll Need:
•    ATV tire sealant
•    ATV tire repair kit
•    Air pump
Tire Sealant for Sidewall Damage
1Take off the valve stem cap and clean the valve stem, if debris is present.
2 Connect the tire sealant hose to the valve stem by placing the hose cap onto the valve stem and screwing it tight.
3Squeeze the prescribed amount of sealant into the tire, per the directions on the bottle..
4Add air to the tire with the tire pump, and rotate the tire (drive on it) to distribute the sealant.
Tire Plug for a Puncture in the Tread
1Inflate the tire with the tire pump. Locate the puncture hole. Clean off the tire until you can spot the hole.
2Ream out the puncture with the tire hole repair tool. Insert the tool into the hole, then bore out the hole to the diameter of the tool's shaft. This is to ensure that you will be able to insert the plug.
3Hook the rubber tire plug onto the tip of the tire repair tool, then insert the plug into the puncture hole until about an inch is left protruding from the tire tread. It will require effort to get the plug into the tire. Once the plug is in to the required depth, remove the tool with a quick, hard jerk.
4Cut off the excess rubber plug near the tread, using a knife. Leave about quarter inch of excess protruding.
5Inflate the tire.
